Don't just assume your students have learned what it takes to be good drivers...teach them yourself! Drivers Ed in a Box contains everything you need to train up "collision-free drivers." Three sections focus on a fundamental understanding of the 'rules of the road'; learning how to drive safely; and realizing the privileges and responsibilities that arrive with driving. Section 1 focuses on the lesson material with tests and quizzes; Section II covers techniques for collision-free driving in the Parking Lot, Neighborhood, Light Traffic, Freeway, Rural and Heavy traffic, and Section III focuses on the social, consumer and environmental issues of driving.
For each section, students are expected to go through the material, after which the parents checks the work and reviews; the parent listens to the audio series and reviews the appropriate video with the student; finally, the parent and student go out and practice the lessons from the text. Checklists provide easy tracking of which skills have been introduced and mastered; lessons include rules and concepts students need to learn, often with diagrams, coaching tips, driving activities, and alternative explanations to help them truly understand the concepts. Tests and room to record time spent driving is also included. This course requires a minimum of 50 in-vehicle training hours, expecting that students will be able to complete the given checklists 10 times without a reminder. You will need a state Handbook or Drivers Manual, and check to see if you need a permit, beginning or training license.
